How to Make Bread
Believe it or not making bread is a pretty simple process. It can be a bit time consuming but in the end you are eating a hot piece of homemade bread. It is well worth the time and effort you make, making the bread.
Step One: Gather your ingredients together. A basic bread recipe will call for a packet of yeast, 2 cups of warm to hot water, 5 cups of bread flour or all-purpose flour. Two tablespoons of sugar, 2 teaspoons of salt and 2 tablespoons of oil.
Step Two: Add 2 cups of flour with 2 cups of water. Start mixing and add in the sugar, oil, yeast and salt.
Step Three: Add about 3 cups more of flour. You can add a bit less and add a bit more if you need it.
Step Four: Now place the dough in a warm by dry place. Place a cloth over the mixture and let rise for about 45 minutes. You should start to see the dough double in size.
Step Five: Take the dough out and punch the dough. Actually punch the dough; this will help you get the air out of the yeast. Then divide the dough into 2, you can spray the pans with Pam and mold the dough into the loaf pans. Cover the pans again and let sit for about 30 minutes.
Step Six: Preheat your own to 350 degrees. They bake about 25 minutes, but check some ovens bake up faster. If you have a thermometer then the bread should be done at 180 and 190 degrees.
Step Seven: The bread should slide out of the pans. You can let them sit for a minute before slicing. Slice through don’t press down, the bread will crumble if you don’t slice it properly.
You can add a variety of things to the bread to change the flavor. You can add Lemon Seed, Cinnamon, Parmesan Cheese or Garlic and Onion Power. There is nothing like the taste of homemade bread. It takes a lot of time to make but waiting for the dough to rise takes the most time.
Spend a day, making homemade bread and you won’t want to go back to store bough bread again. It is easy to make and it doesn’t cost very much. Once you taste homemade bread you will understand how they baked in the old days. Simply delicious.
