Making movies sounds like it is a lot of fun, but it is really a lot of work. There is so much work that goes into making a movie and the majority of it happens before you even start to shoot it. After you complete your screenplay, you will need to storyboard your entire movie, frame-by-frame, act-by-act. This will serve as a guide to help you envision your finished product. The next thing you need to do is plan out your movie set, are you using a studio or are you going on location? You need to create scenery and sets.
You will also need equipment, wardrobe, cameras, lights, a crew to run your movie and most of all you will need to cast your movie. This may take a while so you may want to start casting early. Put ads in the local paper or call the local theatre and see if anyone would like to audition for a movie.
You should have a financial backer, because these things are not free. Staff and actors will not work for free. Make sure that you have a bankroll to help things along. If this is your first movie, you may want to take a course for movie making, it really could help you along.
