To hard boil an egg, you will need a pot and some water. Fill the pot with water and place the egg in the water. The water and the egg will start to boil. Now comes the difference between soft and hard. The longer you leave the egg in the water; the chances are you will get a hard boiled egg. If you only leave in for a matter of seconds then you will get soft boiled.

When the water starts to boil, it is ok to leave the egg in there for a few minutes. Remember the longer you leave the egg in the harder boiler it becomes. The only way to truly know if you have a hard-boiled egg is to test it. You can peel the shell of the egg. If the whites of the egg are solid then the egg is hard-boiled.

A good rule of thumb is the longer you boil an egg the greater the chances are that you will have a hard boiled egg. Once you hard boil an egg there are so many things that you can make. You can eat the hard boiled egg as it is. You can make deviled eggs, simple cut the hard boiled eggs in half and use a topping of your choice. Egg salad is a common food made from hard-boiled eggs.
