How To Get Married
Getting married sounds pretty easy right? Well, the concept is but the planning stages can be tiring and frustrating. There is a solution for those couples that want to know how to get married. Planning is essential for getting married and if you and your intended take the time and make a list of what needs to be done it can all work out ok.
First you will need the marriage license. You can go to your local Town Hall and apply. Each state has its own fee, so you will have to check with your local Town Hall. The next thing you will need is a place to be married. If you are planning on just the two of you, you can choose a Town Hall wedding or a Justice of the Peace wedding.
If you want to go big, then a church, hall or park will best suit your needs. If you choose to get married in a church or the reception hall, be prepared to possibly move your wedding date around because some dates are more common than others.
Now you can make your lists, write out a guest list. Make this the first draft and see how many people you have on it. Chances are you will end up cutting it. Then you can make your bridal party list; again chances are you may cut this list too. Choosing dresses can take some time, but most brides have been planning their weddings since they were little girls and they already have about 10 dress choices in mind.
Make sure that you place your order in plenty of time with weeks to spare. That goes double for the wedding dress. Next on your list should be caterers, unless you are having your reception in the reception hall, they have an in house staff. Choose your flowers, tuxes, photographer, music and limousines. These are the main things you want to have settled months before the wedding.
Make sure that you have everyone provide you with a contract outlining everything that you want and expect. If you pay your deposits in cash then always get a written receipt. Remember that this is your time to enjoy the entire process of getting married. Brides get frustrated because they don’t get things in writing or they don’t leave enough time to plan.
It’s ok to rent a limo 3 months in advance; chances are you will get exactly what you want if you plan ahead. This also works for the companies you choose; by planning ahead it leaves them room to book other appointments around you.
