How to Draw Step By Step
Drawing is a great hobby to get into, some people who draw fin tune their talents and they make a career of drawing. It is not easy to draw technically. You can pick up a piece of paper and doodle and draw things you like but when it comes to the technical side of drawing you have to have a talent. If you want to become serious about drawing, here are some helpful tips to help you get started.
Decide first on what you are going to use to draw, pens, pencils, pastel pencils, markers, brushes or charcoal. If you are a beginner then a pencil is the best place to start. Visit your local art supply store and pick up some drawing pencils, the HB, 2B and 4B pencils are a good place to start. Also pick up a kneadable eraser, you will be using this a lot. This eraser is different than other because if you are drawing something and you need to erase a small section of the picture, this eraser can help you eraser very small parts of the picture.
There are also many different grades of paper but for you as a beginner, you want to start with a plain smooth paper. Decide what you are going to draw and begin the drawing with a light outline, the 2B pencils are perfect for that. Try to maintain the same strokes of the pencil when you draw, this will keep your pictures even. Try wearing a pair of cotton gloves; this will stop you from smudging the pencil as you draw.
Using the 4B pencil, you can shade in the outline with a darker outline. As you start to become more comfortable with the pencils and the paper, you will start to draw more fluently. To really get a good idea of what you are doing, get a desk lamp. You will see better and maybe get a better perspective of how your drawing is actually coming out.
You can start to sketch the picture you want to draw with the lighter pencil and then once you have the outline, the way you want, you can start to shade in drawing with colors. There are hundreds of websites that can show you step by step on how to get started, sometimes seeing something is easier than reading about it.
