How to do your own hair

We cannot always afford to go to the salon and get our hair done. But we can learn to do our own hair, it would save us money and we can do it in the privacy of our own home. There are standard styles like hi-lighting we can do at home with a store bought kit from the drug store. We can also perm our hair and color our own hair too. If you compared price for price you would never want to go to the salon again.

Hair cutting is a different story, you may believe the only way to have your hair cut is by a professional, but there are ways to cut your own hair. Try these helpful tips and start small, don’t go all drastic because you may not like the way it comes out.

It is much easier to cut wet hair than dry. First wash your hair and use conditioner to help it from getting tangles. Try keeping a bottle of spray water next to you so you can wet the hair if it dries. Make sure you have a pair of sharp scissors; if the scissors are dull you will end up pulling the hair rather than cutting it. The beauty supply houses have great styling scissors if you want to make that investment.

The easiest cuts top make are the one length cuts, Choose what length you want your hair to be. Remember hair is longer when it is wet. Using butterfly clips, separate your hair into sections. Use a ruler before you cut and then after, so you can cut the same length off all round your head. Keep up this process until your hair is completely cut. You are not a professional but you should be able to come very close to making it even.

If you mess up your hair don’t try to cut it until it becomes even, you could end up with hair shorter than you ever wanted. Make an appointment at your local hair cutters and they can just even it out for you.  If you don’t rush and ask a friend to help you, you could end up with a great haircut for free! Once you like the job you have done, you could do this every month. It really will save you a lot of money at the end of the year.
