How to Decorate a Church for a Wedding

You can save a lot of money on a wedding if you do the decoration yourself. This includes decorating the church. Planning a wedding can be stressful but planning decorations can actually be fun. Here is a step-by-step plan to help you decorate the Church.

Step One: Most couples use their wedding theme colors to decorate the Church. It would not hurt for you to add some extra colors to your color scheme. For example, if your wedding colors were Red and Black, it would be acceptable to add some white to the mix. Make sure that all the colors you choose flow with each other.

Step Two: Some couples use flowers to decorate the church, but that can be very expensive. Keep the flower arrangements to big displays at the front near the alter and keep those to a minimum, say one on each side.

Step Three: Keep the amount of balloons to a minimum as well. Some people think that they have to jam pack the church with decoration but the truth is that the simpler the decoration the better it looks. In others words less is more.

Step Four: Try matching the colors of the wedding colors with satin material that you can buy in the fabric store and you can drape a section of each pew with some material.

Step Five: If you are set on flowers on each pew, look into artificial or silk flowers. They look like the real thing but they cost a lot less.

Step Six: If you use real flowers, pick them up the day of the wedding and decorate a few hours before. The problem with using real flowers is they wilt a lot faster, especially if you are getting married in the summer months.

Step Seven: Set a budget and don’t go overboard. Make a list of items you need and shop at discount stores. Get the most for your money.

Step Eight: Candles make a nice decoration. You can use colored candles or same scented candles, it would be a nice surprise to have guests walk in and notice a sweet smell in the air. Make the Church a romantic place to be.

Step Nine: Decorate yourself! Consider it a fun project that the wedding party can do together before the wedding. It would be lots of fun.
