How to Cook Salmon
There are so many different ways to cook up salmon. If you are looking for a great way to cook salmon, look no further. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to cook salmon the right way.
Step One: You want to prepare the salmon first. You can either keep the skin on or off when you are preparing salmon. Whether you keep the skin on or off it won’t alter the taste of the fish. You can start by breading the salmon by beating one egg in a separate bowl. In another bowl you can fill it with either panko crumbs or breadcrumbs. Dip the salmon in the egg and then coat the fish with breadcrumbs.
Step Two: Heat up a skillet and add one tablespoon of oil. Heat the oil at a slow pace. If you heat the oil on a higher flame it will burn the oil and it will change the taste of the fish. You can choose olive oil or canola oil. Fish is a healthy food so choose a light oil with less fat.
Step Three: Next, once the oil is heated but not burnt, place the fish in the heated oil. If a tablespoon of oil isn’t enough you a bit more. You don’t want to bathe the fish in oil. You just want to fry the fish in a small bit.
Step Four: Once the salmon is in the pan, you can slightly increase the flame from slow to medium. Standing over the salmon, cook for about 5 minutes until brown and a crispy. Some people like crispy salmon and others prefer a softer crispy.
Step Five: Turn the salmon over and fry again for about 5 minutes. It may take less time on the second side, especially if the fish is not a thick cut. A thicker cut may take a bit longer.
Step Six: The salmon should be pink on the inside but make sure that it is 100% cooked. Though salmon can be eaten raw such as in Lox. But when cooking salmon or any fish you want to make sure that it is cooked all the way through.
Step Seven: Remove the salmon from the pan; you can use some lemon or limejuice to splash on the fish. Tatar sauce or soy sauce would compliment the fish. You can serve the fish with some green vegetables or a nice salad.
