Steps

Measure the size of the door that you want to make. Cut the different parts into pieces that will match the house fixture. Do not glue the pieces together yet. Instead, lay each part side by side with one another in order to make it easier to determine whether the materials will fit perfectly right into the door.

After all the appropriate measurements are made, it is now time to put the various pieces together. Lay them on the floor. For the joints, hold them in a position that forms a square. For this part, use the C-clamps to keep the pieces in place. Dip the glue brush into the polyurethane glue and then use it to attach the joints together. Let it stand for some time until it dries.

The next step is to put the cleats on the door. Cut each part into ¾-by-¾. Glue the pieces one by one right into the unfinished door. If glue is not enough, put nails to support it. Use varnish or paint to give the door a nicer appearance. Select a color that complements well the color as well as style of your house.

When the paint dries off completely, get the staple gun and then staple the screening into the frame of the unfinished door. The material must be stretched out tightly before stapling it in place. Either start at the top or bottom part of the frame. Simply cut the excess parts off for a cleaner result.

Find the main door trim. Position the screen door outside the main door. Install the hinges on it. This will connect the door with the trim. After installing the hinges, add handles for easier use. Simply put the screws of the handle.
