How to Build a Loft Bed

A loft bed is a type of bed made at a relatively low cost. Loft beds are ideal for small rooms and apartments.

Required Materials

Determine the location where you want to place it. Normally, you would want to put your loft bed in one of the corners of your room.
Chop the four posts according to the appropriate height. These posts will support the weight of the person who will use the loft bed. Next, attach the finished lumber boards to the posts at the topmost part by the sides. Make sure the lumber boards fit in accordingly.
Drill holes in the junctions youï¿½ve just made. After creating the holes, insert the screws and bolts in them. This will make the bed more stable. Use 3-inch screws at each corner junction between the boards and posts. Remember not to use nails in this process. Using nails will make it difficult for you to disassemble the bed should the need arise.
Cut the plywood according to the appropriate measurements. Fix the pieces of plywood in between the bedï¿½s posts at the uppermost position. Ensure that the pieces of plywood are spaced equally and are secured tightly. Use a set of screws to tighten the boards.
Place the mattress, the cushion and the pillows on the bed.
